Biography

Kami Temba Sherpa was born on 6th July 1994 in Thame Teng, Solukhumbu, Nepal. He is the son of Ngawang Pasang Sherpa and Daki Sherpa. Kami completed his School Leaving Certificate (SLC) from Learning Realm International School in 2010. He went on to complete his Intermediate studies at Trinity International College in 2012.

Kami is proficient in English as an international language and is fluent in both Nepali and Sherpa as local languages. To enhance his professional capabilities, he has undergone several training programs, including Trekking Guide Training by NATHM in 2014, Basic KCC Training in 2016, and Advanced KCC Training in 2017.

Kami began his professional journey as an Administrative Assistant at Khumbu Multipurpose Cooperative Pvt Ltd from 2012 to 2014. In 2014, he worked as a translator for the National Broadcasting Channel (NBC) News. During the 2015 earthquake, he served as a local guide for NBC News.

His mountaineering achievements are remarkable. Between 2015 and 2016, he summited Island Peak multiple times. In 2017, Kami summited Mt. Everest from the North side with Transcend Adventures. During this expedition, he showcased his rescue skills, saving the life of a client at an altitude of 7900 meters. That same year, he summited Mera Peak with Hari Budha Magar, the first-ever double amputee to achieve this feat. In 2018, Kami summited Mt. Everest once again, worked on the Cho Oyu Expedition, and participated in the Himlung Himal Expedition.

In 2019, Kami’s achievements included summiting Mt. Everest, reaching Camp 4 on K2, summiting Gasherbrum II (G2), and working on the Manaslu Expedition. His success continued in 2021 when he summited Amadablam twice and summited Manaslu. He has also summited Mt. Everest on other occasions.

Kami has been a climbing instructor at the Khumbu Climbing Center (KCC) since 2018. He is currently undergoing the Aspirant Guide Course (Batch 21/22) run by the Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA).

Through his extensive experience, Kami Temba Sherpa has established himself as a dedicated and skilled mountaineer. His expertise spans numerous peaks, including Mt. Everest, Manaslu, Amadablam, and Gasherbrum II. Kami’s commitment to safety, leadership, and mountaineering excellence has made him an invaluable guide, instructor, and role model in the mountaineering community. His passion for the mountains continues to inspire those around him.
