Oleksandr Sokhatskyi was born on July 31, 1986 (36 years old) in the village of Sencha, Poltava region, Ukraine.
Since childhood, Alexander has been involved in kickboxing, being an all-Ukrainian and international winner of competitions in this sport. In 2016, he finished participating on his own in tournaments, becoming a kickboxing coach.
In 2012, he started climbing in Kyiv, where his first coach was famous in mountaineering circles, especially in women’s mountaineering, Marina Kopteva. Alexander is the winner and prize-winner of the championships in Kyiv and Ukraine in mountaineering.
In 2015 he graduated from Mukachevo State University with a degree in Tourism.
In 2017, Alexander moved to Kazakhstan, to the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk. Here he joined the local mountaineering club “Irbis”. He trains and goes to the mountains all year round.
He was 8 times at the top of Lenin Peak (7134 m.) – 7 times with clients, 2 times at Evgenia Korzhenevskaya Peak (7105 m.) – all times with clients. He has been working as a guide on Lenin Peak since 2014.
He speaks English at a conversational level, has been a guide under Lenin Peak in international groups since 2015. He took part in more than 50 rescue operations in the mountains, including Lenin, Korzhenevskaya and Communism peaks.
