Program Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan tour

Embark on an unforgettable adventure through the majestic landscapes of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, two of Central Asia’s most breathtaking countries. This tour will take you deep into the heart of the Pamir and Tian Shan mountain ranges, where you’ll explore towering peaks, pristine alpine lakes, and remote villages rich in culture and history. Journey along the legendary Pamir Highway, one of the world’s highest roads, visit the vibrant city of Dushanbe, and marvel at the crystal-clear waters of Issyk-Kul Lake in Kyrgyzstan. Along the way, experience the warm hospitality of the local people, sample traditional cuisine, and discover the region’s rich blend of ancient traditions and Soviet-era heritage. This tour is perfect for those seeking an exhilarating mix of nature, adventure, and cultural immersion in the heart of Central Asia.

Day 1Arrival in Dushanbe. Overnight in hotel.

Our Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan tour starts in Dushanbe. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to the hotel, with an early check-in provided. After a brief rest at the hotel, we will begin our city tour, including visits to the National Museum, Museum of Ethnography, and the monuments of Rudaki and Somoni. We will also explore Rudaki National Park. You will return to the hotel for accommodation and overnight stay.

Day 2Dushanbe sightseeing tour

After breakfast, we will start our sightseeing with a transfer to Hissar Fortress, a historic site from the 18th century Bukhara Emirate, located 25 km from Dushanbe. Here, we will explore the Fort, Medresse Museum, and Caravanserai.

Following the visit, we will drive back to Dushanbe and explore the Navruz Palace. Originally intended to be the world’s largest teahouse, the building was transformed into a palace during its construction due to its impressive interiors, crafted by artisans from across the country. Although most rooms are reserved for official events and international conferences, one room is open to the public and often hosts weddings. You’ll have the opportunity to tour this extraordinary modern palace.

Later, we will visit the Botanical Garden, Sariosiye Mosque and Medresse, and conclude the day at the vibrant Eastern Mehrgon Bazaar.

Day 3Dushanbe - Kalaikhumb (380 km/6hrs)

After breakfast transfer to Kalaikhumb, visiting Mir Said Ali Hamadani’s Masoleum.
Accommodation and overnight in the hotel.

Day 4Kalaikhumb – Khorog (240 km/6-7 hrs)

After breakfast transfer to Khorog. Visiting Botanical Garden and Museum of Khorog’s History.
Accommodation and overnight in the hotel.

Day 5Khorog – Garmchasma – Ishkashim – Langar (265 km/5-6 hrs )

Morning transfer to Garmchasma, visiting hot spring. Continue to Langar, on the way visiting Kahkaha and Yamchun Fortresses. Accommodation and overnight in Hissor village.

Day 6Langar – Bulunkul – Murgab (315 km/6-7 hrs)

Transfer to Bulunkul. Visiting Bulunkul lake and Yashilkul. Walking around the lake. Transfer to Murgab. Accommodation and overnight in the hotel.

Day 7Kyzyl Art Pass – Sary Tash village (315 km/6-7 hrs)

In the afternoon, we will meet at the Kyzyl Art border crossing. After completing the border formalities, we will take a short drive to the village of Sary Tash. Upon arrival, you will be accommodated in a local family house. If the weather permits, you’ll have the opportunity to admire the stunning view of Peak Lenin (7,134 m) from the village. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the family house.

Day 8Sary Tash village – Osh city (180 km/3 hrs)

In the morning, we will begin our drive to Osh city, passing through the scenic Taldyk and Chyrchyk Passes. Upon arrival around noon, we will enjoy lunch at a local café, followed by a half-day city tour.

Osh’s ancient origins can be traced back to the rock drawings and inscriptions found on the northern slope of the iconic Suleiman Mountain, one of Central Asia’s most significant Islamic shrines. Our first stop will be the Historical Museum, located in the mountain’s main cave. After exploring the museum, we will follow the traditional pilgrimage path to the summit, where you’ll visit the small Babur Mosque, built by the founder of the Great Mogul Dynasty, and enjoy panoramic views of the city.

Descending from the mountain, we’ll visit Osh’s vibrant bazaar, renowned for its oriental charm, the scents of spices and fruits, and colorful stalls in the Golden Market. You’ll also have the chance to observe blacksmiths at work in their workshops. After the market, we will head to the city’s main square to view the government buildings and the famous Lenin Monument.

Dinner will be at a local restaurant, followed by accommodation and overnight at a hotel.

Day 9Osh city – Uzgen town – Arslanbob village (185 km/4 hrs)

First part of the day we spend on the way to Arslanbob village.
En route visit Uzgen town and see Karakhanid complex of 11th C.
Later drive to Arslanbob village. Arrival and accommodation in a local family house.
Free time to explore the area of the village and visit spectacular waterfall. Dinner and overnight.

Day 10Arsalanbob village – Chychkan canyon (320 km/5-6 hrs)

After breakfast we say good bye to the lovely family that welcomed us for 2 days and head to Toktogul region. This is the reservoir and a town in Jalal Abad district.
Lunch en route.
Reach Toktogul reservoir, drive around, passing Toktogul little town and head up along Chychkan canyon until we reach Oson Motel. Accommodation and time at leisure.
Dinner and overnight.

Day 11Chychkan canyon – Son Kul lake (400 km/7-8 hrs)

We will continue our journey, driving up to the Ala-Bel Pass before reaching the stunning Suusamyr Valley. From there, we will follow the scenic route along the Kokomeren River, passing through the picturesque Kyzyl Oi village and Chaek town.

Lunch will be enjoyed en route as we take in the beautiful surroundings. Afterward, we will head towards the famous Kara Keche coal mine, driving up the Kara Keche Pass, which will lead us to the breathtaking Son Kul Lake. The journey offers spectacular views and memorable experiences along the way.

By evening, we will arrive at the traditional yurt camp, where you’ll settle in and relax before enjoying a hearty dinner. Overnight at the yurt camp.

Day 12Son Kul Lake – Bokonbaev village (260 km/5-6 hrs)

We will drive to the southern shore of Issyk Kul Lake, passing through Kochkor village, with lunch along the way. The highlight of the day is arriving at Bokonbaev village, where we will meet local Eagle hunters who will demonstrate the incredible skills of their birds of prey in action.

In addition to this fascinating tradition, we will visit a local felt workshop to learn about the intricate process of felt-making.

In the evening, we will settle into the Almaluu yurt camp on the shores of Issyk Kul Lake, where you can relax and enjoy dinner, followed by an overnight stay in the yurt camp.

Day 13Bokonbaev village – Bishkek city (250 km/5 hrs)

On this day, we have the option to start earlier than usual, allowing us to reach Bishkek by the afternoon. Along the way, we’ll stop for lunch and visit the historic Burana Tower complex. Arriving early will give us more time to explore the key sights of Bishkek.

During our city tour, we will visit several notable landmarks:

  • The Monument of Kyrgyz National Hero Manas;
  • Kurmanjan Datka and Lenin Monuments;
  • The Ala-Too Main Square and the old square;
  • The Fine Art Gallery;
  • Victory Square, dedicated to the heroes of World War II.

In the evening, we’ll enjoy dinner at a local restaurant accompanied by a traditional folklore performance. Overnight stay will be at a hotel in Bishkek.

Day 14Bishkek – Ala Archa gorge – Bishkek (80 km/2 hr)

After a restful morning and breakfast at the hotel, we will drive 40 km outside of Bishkek to Ala Archa National Park. This popular destination is known for its scenic picnics, hiking trails, rock climbing, and alpinism, featuring 20 glaciers within its territory. You can take a leisurely walk along the paved road beside the river or opt for a hike up into the mountains for breathtaking views of the gorge. For those in good health, there is the option to hike to a picturesque waterfall, which is about 3.75 km away and takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours one way.

In the late afternoon, we will return to Bishkek, where you can relax at the hotel. Dinner will be served at a local restaurant, followed by an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 15Bishkek - airport (30 km/40 min)

Early morning transfer to the airport. Flight back home.
